Our trip to Mexico City was the last flight we took together as neither of us knew what was to come or what would be missed. I think you fell in love with Mexico when we went to Guadalajara but realized there was so much more economic diversity and beauty during this trip. You’ll be forever part of Mexico City on top of the Pyramid of the Sun.
This year I decided to take the girls to a Padre game in your honor and for our anniversary. I left you at the spot (the popcorn cart) where you and I began something more than a friendship, the place we were caught by our boss being a little too close (since it was a company event) and the place where his wife Bridget told us we made a good couple, in 2004.
Zeus and I went to the Dog beach so you know it had to be a special day. Then we went up to see Deni and Hercules where we enjoyed each other’s company in your honor, you’d be proud of your baby sister. Deni and I had dinner at the old person restaurant in Rancho Bernardo taking advantage of the early-bird special and without getting any older, another birthday has passed…just like old times :).
My love, Ralph turned 50 and the girls and I went out to Albuquerque to visit. He surprisingly has a new baby also, it was a big secret. She is beautiful. He doesn’t have chickens anymore…..told ya’. I remember our trip out there and Santa Fe….how much you loved the turquoise jewelry and open space. I left you with them and Albuquerque for ever more. I love you.
London, I haven’t been anywhere special lately but you are with me whenever I drive. Here’s the evening sky in Corona, CA.
B^3, we may not see the world together but you are with me wherever I go. You are part of the trees, the beaches, the museums, the mountains, and the waterfalls of Costa Rica forever. I love you.
In lieu of us, I took “the dog” (Zeus) with me to celebrate what would have been our 12 anniversary and 16 years of friendship. Palm Springs with Zeus does not compare to Palm Springs with you but as with everything, you were with me in spirit and now forever.
BTW, the hotel charged me an extra $100 just for having “the dog”…..ahhhhh; which was perfect since our trips were always just a little more expensive when we were together :).
You will forever be at our ‘old people dance spot’, Rancho Bernardo Winery. We always looked sooooo good together, eating , dancing, and enjoying wine outdoors to the live music. RBW will never be the same and is one of my favorite memories of us.
I know right, crazy talk, Deni & I celebrated your birthday at your favorite San Diego movie theater…..the LOT. We enjoyed the restaurant with an unexpected performance of comedy from various performers……who were pretty good. Rest with the fire and enjoy your spot.
We miss you so much and love you London. We spread your ashes today in a beautiful park in Tallahassee Florida, under a lovely tree. Sam did a special ceremony in which he acknowledged the Seminole people and lit a smudging stick, sending prayers to the four directions as well as the sky and earth. We think of you often and hold you in our hearts, dead soul. All love, all blessings.
